Formula 1 has returned to its good old habits. The third stage of the championship is in fact held in Australia, with its somewhat particular timetables and a circuit that fans know well, that of Albert Park. But above all, the weekend resumed its usual schedule, with free practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday. In fact, in Bahrain and Jeddah the races were held on Saturday. A factor that has destabilized the Fantamanagers in no small way. In Melbourne, however, we expect anything but a "traditional" race. And especially after the first day of free practice, the situation seems to be interesting. Let's see our Fanta F1 tips for the weekend in Australia. However, starting from an important update regarding Williams.
Sargeant will not participate in the remainder of the weekend
In the Williams household, things seem to be going from bad to worse. After a rather disappointing start in Bahrain and Jeddah, the team arrived in Australia with a desire for redemption, but with few spare parts it seems. The damage to Alexander Albon, who ended up heavily on the wall during FP1 after an error and a passage that was too heavy on the curb, costs the team dearly, forced to have to give up, due to a lack of chassis, one of the two single-seaters present in the pits, and consequently to one of the pilots. But forget the saying “whoever breaks it pays”. The choice of the team in this case in fact paid little attention to responsibilities but rather to the hierarchies present in the team. And the one who paid the most was Logan Sargeant who was excluded from the Grand Prix. A real cold shower, not only for Logan but also for the Fantamanagers who had him on their team at Fanta F1 and who are forced to change him, before incurring a -10 point penalty.
This will inevitably lead to a change of strategy in choosing training. Logan was in fact one of the most chosen drivers at Fanta F1 given the low cost. Furthermore, his points average in these two races was really good.
Ferrari or Red Bull, the challenge becomes interesting
Don't worry, Logan, but let's continue the Fanta F1 advice for the weekend in Australia by talking about the most interesting challenge: the one between Ferrari and Red Bull. The Maranello team had two straight sessions and took the lead of the group with Leclerc in the second free practice session. Also Sainz he pulled it off, considering he's coming off an abdominal operation. The Spaniard said he was quite confident, especially for qualifying. At the moment we remember that both in qualifying and in the race only one driver dominated: Max Verstappen. The Dutchman arrives in Melbourne as the favourite, despite some problems during the races FP1 but Ferrari is ready to do anything to snatch important positions from him in the standings. We will see the true values in the sessions that count. However, the feeling is that the SF-24 is at ease around the curves of the city track. The drivers also confirmed this, satisfied with the response of the single-seater.
But what are the sensations for the race? We know that underestimating the Red Bull is basically wrong. Even more so if we rely on data relating to sessions that don't count. Helmut Marko assured his fans by clarifying that the team has thought from a more conservative perspective, on the power unit side. And furthermore the RB20 will have a great advantage in the race, namely the strength of its DRS. This does not prevent Ferrari from being able to at least fight for Pole, and from occupying one place, if not two, on the podium.
The battle in the center of the group
In the middle of the pack in Australia, the main candidate for the role of third force seems to be McLaren. THEThe English team could use the load in its favor to do well especially in the race. Also considering the problems that continue to torment Mercedes, still dissatisfied with the W15 and the doubts about Aston Martin's behavior in the race, rather than in qualifying.
