The weekend of the GP of Monaco with the first free practice session. Lots of new things to see: the new Mercedes W14B, the McLaren livery that pays tribute to the triple crown and the hunt for Red Bull by Ferrari and Aston Martin. Let's recap what happened during the first 60 minutes of the weekend, which saw Sainz close in front of everyone.
Session report
Log in and Verstappen can't find the feeling with his Red Bull. Complain about bottoming and asks to change the trim. The two Ferrari by Sainz and Leclerc, on medium tyres, immediately take the top positions. Like the world champion, too Russell complains about his car: explains that i brakes they don't work as they should and in fact he can't even get into the top 10.
Sergeant has problems with his Williams: a wheel not seems to have been fixed correctly. A few minutes later, Hulkenberg out the left rear after a contact with the barriers at the harbor chicane and brings out the red flag. Problems also for teammates of Sargeant and Hulkenberg at Sainte Devote. Before Magnussen ends lungo, then Albon puts his Williams violently on the wall and ends the session three minutes early.
Sainz in command
Sainz, thus, closes FP1 in command, in front of Alonso e Hamilton. Leclerc, fifth, is sandwiched between the two Red Bull's Perez (P4) e Verstappen (P6). Good job for Norris, seventh ahead of Or with, Stroll e Albon. Disappoints, so far, the Mercedes of Russell, Only 16esimo. The appointment is at 17 for the FP2!
