La F1 Academy announces a new sponsor within the category. American Express, in fact, becomes a partner of the academy from the Miami Grand Prix. The car with AE livery will be driven by Jessica Edgar, the driver who raced in the colors of the academy for the first race.
American Express and F1 Academy
American Express, after having collaborated with Formula 2023 already in 1, becoming the Official Payments Partner in America, is now ready to take part in the women's category which encourages young women to express their strength and value.
Racing with the sponsor's special livery - and personalized tracksuit with the new logo - is the British driver number 17, Jessica Edgar, in the Rodin Motorsport team. Furthermore, to support small businesses, the partnership includes a special livery for each remaining F1 Academy GP starting next weekend in Miami (3-5 May). This livery will have the particularity of having - in addition to the American Express logo - also a logo of a small local business headed by a woman.
What to expect from Miami?
The Miami Grand Prix from 3 to 5 May will have the particularity of activating this great partnership with dedicated events.
In fact, on May 1st there will be the event "a celebration of women with drive” – celebration of women with determination – where American Express cardholders can participate. In addition to celebrating women in motorsports and entrepreneurship, the event will feature award-winning artist Camilla Cabello.
For the first weekend of the partnership, the logo dedicated to Small Business will be that of the restaurant Caja Caliente. A family-run Cuban restaurant created by Monica Leon who moved from her home garage to a food truck in 2016 and now has her own store in Coral Glabes, a famous neighborhood in Miami.
Susie Wolff – CEO of the category – was very enthusiastic about this new sponsor, «American Express is a world leader in the payments sector and a powerful supporter of small businesses and entrepreneurs globally and we are proud to welcome them to F1 Academy as a partner officials. We are grateful to American Express for embracing our vision and demonstrating their commitment to elevating women in sports and inspiring the next generation of female riders."
Elizabeth Rutledge – AE's marketing manager – also expressed her opinion in this regard, stating in the press release «we are excited to launch our global partnership with the F1 Academy for 2024. Supporting the community is fundamental and is in the DNA of American Express . With this partnership we hope to continue to promote equal opportunities for women, on and off the track, by highlighting women-owned small businesses and their impact on local communities."
