To best prepare for the return to Formula 1 with Aston Martin from 2026 Honda has decided to get closer to the Silverstone team by inaugurating a new logistics headquarters in the United Kingdom. La partnerships between Aston Martin and Honda marks two important steps for both. On the one hand, Aston's detachment from the supply of Mercedes Power Units, on the other, Honda's commitment to the creation of a completely new Power Unit that follows the 2026 regulations, and the related challenges given by the new technical regulations, to aim for the world title.
The new logistics base in view of 2026
The marriage with Aston Martin arrived last May following a series of contacts made by Honda with other Formula 1 teams. Teams which, however, did not convince the Japanese giant, fascinated by the investments made by Aston Martin in the last two years and by the desire to win at all costs. After all, Honda left Formula 1 with a world title, Max Verstappen's first. Getting to 2026 ready, and above all more ready than the competition, can determine a great advantage from a global perspective. For this reason Aston Martin chose to join Honda, breaking away from that partnership with Mercedes and becoming independent in all and for all.
And Honda has in turn decided to dedicate itself totally to this new cause, moving even closer to Aston Martin's headquarters, inaugurating a new branch, Honda Racing Corporation UK Ltd. (HRC UK) in the United Kingdom, in Bracknell, south of the Aston Martin hub at Silverstone. Founded, according to what was communicated by Honda “To carry out mainly maintenance and post-race preparation activities on the F1 power units (PUs) built by Honda, also operating as a logistics operation for the European region. The creation of HRC UK will further enhance the effectiveness of Honda's PU operations, supporting the partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. Following the establishment of the new company in the UK, HRC will begin recruiting engineers, technicians and staff members for the new company from spring 2024.”
