It certainly wasn't one of the best weekends for Principality of Monaco. In fact, never like this year have they been born lots of controversy around the most particular GP of the year: both in terms of race management and traced.
The little show
A win it was Sergio's Red Bull Perez, on a track where there were no difficulties. The rain undoubtedly characterized the race, in which (after starting an hour late) huge overtaking. Just think of the starting order of the second half of the race: Perez, who started in front, won, followed by Sainz and Verstappen.

Mercedes in trouble
Even at home Mercedes, the Monaco track not it gave so many emotions. Russell he succeeded in a only overtaking, the one about Norris, in which he conquered the fifth position. Hamilton instead, blocked above all by the traffic generated by Alonso, he concluded in eighth box, the same one where he started at the beginning of the GP. There Mercedes continues to be found in that famous no man's land, In which third place in the constructors' category seems to be certain, as well as the limited chances of fighting for the world championship.
Wolff: “Munich's position must be evaluated”
However, the considerations on Monaco are not over. In fact, Mercedes was one of the teams that the more he criticized the layout of the Principality, in particular with the main team Toto Wolff.
“I think we will have to make evaluations on the Monaco track. If a car slows down by almost 5 seconds and blocks everyone, it is also a shame for the show and the race itself. So maybe we can look at the layout of the route and think about whether we can intervene. This way we won't find ourselves faced with a procession, a strategy game or a qualifying race."
Renewal chaos
A rather particular situation, considering that the agreement between Monaco and Liberty Media is still missing, and renewal is not so obvious.
"I don't think that the changes to the design of the Monaco track are fundamental for the renewal. I believe there are some commercial evaluations to be made – said Toto Wolff – but it is clear that both parties will find a compromise, because we need Monaco and Monaco needs Formula 1."
“As for the track, maybe it's an illusion. I wouldn't know where to drive other than on these roads. The tunnel is a quick part, but I don't know what can be done. Maybe we could eliminate the chicane at the exit of the tunnel and make it a straight. And then the Tobacconist, I don't know... The Tobacconist would be too fast. Maybe some hard braking... But here I'm speaking as a track designer and, in reality, I don't have the slightest idea of how to do it."
