Like a bolt from the blue. It all happened on the night between 31 and 1 February when Giuliano Duchessa, via the newspaper Formu1a.uno, and "The Corriere della Sera", announced the strong attempt of Ferrari on Lewis Hamilton. A negotiation, which until a few years ago seemed impossible, is ready to become reality. The news spreads over the hours and then finds more and more confirmations: the seven-time world champion lands in Maranello. The Mercedes Toto team principal himself announced this during an emergency meeting called for 15pm in Brackley (00pm Italian time). Wolff which announced to its employees the agreement reached for Hamilton's passage into Ferrari starting from 2025.
Wolff announces the agreement for Hamilton's move to Ferrari
To report the news is Sky Sports. According to what is said, in fact, Wolff called an emergency meeting with all the employees of Mercedes (which is based in Brackley), to announce this sensational turn of events. The news became increasingly insistent during the morning of February 1st, so much so there seems to be less and less time left for the official announcement. For the seven-time world champion, starting next year, a new adventure will begin in Maranello. Both desired and sought after, in addition to the difficulties (and possibly even real impossibilities) that had arisen in past years.

Hamilton's last year at Brackley before leaving
Although the announcement will come before the start of the 2024 season, Hamilton will be Russell's teammate for at least another year and he will have his last Mercedes at his disposal before joining Ferrari. In all of this, it is still to be understood who will take Hamilton's place and also what it will be Sainz's future which, without a doubt, will still remain within the Formula 1 drivers list even from 2025 (with the Audi name becoming more and more insistent). At the moment, however, after Wolff's official announcement, everything seems to be ready and set for the announcement which, based on the latest rumours, could arrive as early as this evening.
