Time for reflections. We are getting closer and closer to the summer break which, as always, opens the doors to the real beginning of the riders market. Not many riders are at risk this year, but it's not excluded that, with just one start, they could start a particular domino effect. One of those who could trigger this effect is the 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.
Driver market: how much movement
First of all, understand the situation at home Alpine. According to the latest, Alonso is now close to renewal. The couple for next year should therefore be confirmed, even if the delay in announcing the contract extension with the Spanish rider makes you think and not a little. However, if the news were to be confirmed, there would be room for Piastres and Williams. The contacts continue, even if the negotiation could momentarily interrupted for a possible intrusion of the McLaren. Despite the words of Ricciardo e Seidl, who confirmed the Australian's stay at McLaren until next season Brown has yet to say a word on the matter and it is not excluded that he is secretly working on the young reigning F2 champion driver.
Vettel, it all depends on him
All to be discovered, like Sebastian's future Hag. At the beginning of the year, also considering the team's difficulties, the farewell at the end of the season of the German seemed almost a certainty. Things actually seem to have changed, with the four-time world champion thus commenting on the rumors about his future:
“ As far as my future is concerned, I will talk to the team but there is a clear intention to continue. We will see. I hope the update brought about Silverstone give the desired results, to allow us to fight in the middle of the group”.
Welcome August
Will therefore be the track, and other factors such as desire and motivations, to determine the future of Sebastian Vettel in Formula One. Keep an eye out, also because if the former Ferrari were to say goodbye to the Silverstone team, there's no shortage of names to replace him, above all Alonso(in case of non-renewal with Alpine), or even Mick's Schumacher. So everything will still have to be seen: August is coming and the drivers' market is heating up.
