It was an absolutely special weekend at Monza with Max Verstappen who wins and finishes ahead of Charles Leclerc and George Russell. Very nice race, leaving out the ending closed in Safety Car regime. Let's find out together the report cards of the top ten of the Italian GP.
Max Verstappen
His race is very good. Even today he seemed to be the fastest rider of all. Grade 9.
Charles Leclerc
There is little to say. The strategy may be questionable, but Verstappen seemed to have something more. Very good weekend of him who gives high hopes for Singapore. Grade 8.
George Russell
As always, it is confirmed in the top five. Good race for him who, having started second, still leads him to the podium. Grade 7.
The report cards: off the podium
Carlos Sainz
His race was absolutely incredible. Stubborn, hard to overtake and super comeback. Too bad for Safety, the podium was clearly within his reach. Deserves the vote of driver of the day. Rating 9.5.
Lewis Hamilton
His was also a great comeback. Slower than that of Sainz, but the full strength of the seven-time world champion was seen. Grade 9.
Sergio Perez
Very abnormal race. Good ascent with a definitely not exceptional strategy. He closes behind the other riders who started from the rear like him, while his teammate flies. Grade 6.
Lando Norris
His departure is absolutely forgettable but, considering the top teams, he finishes in seventh place and earns important points for the constructors, considering Alpine outside the points zone. Grade 7.
Pierre Gasly
It was kind of his weekend. Very good also in qualifying where, thanks also to the penalties, he starts fifth and still manages to bring the AlphaTauri in the points. Rating 7.5.
Nyck de vries
It is named for the FP3 on a car that does not give many guarantees. He made no mistakes in the race and finished in ninth place. It's hard to dream of a better debut. Grade 9.
Guanyu-Zhou
Try to raise his head the little Chinese who is not experiencing a good period of form, as well as his teammate Bottas. Grade 6.
