With the Abu Dhabi race, the Formula 1 officially closes its doors for the 2023 season, which after all saw only one great dominator: Max Verstappen. The Dutchman, in fact, conquered well 19 wins out of 22 races, with more than 1.000 laps completed in the lead. Impressive numbers, as well as the amount that three-time world champion Verstappen will have to pay next year registration fee for the 2024 championship.
What the FIA regulations provide
Let's go in order: each Formula 1 team, as well as each respective driver, must pay a basic tax of 10.400 € to be able to register for the Formula 1 championship. Naturally, more than the drivers, only their sponsors paid who, in some circumstances, also made the difference to allow certain teams not to risk even their permanence within the Circus. Added to this base, already high in itself 2.100 € for every point that is earned in the past season (thinking about the next one, therefore, the points from 2023 are considered) to obtain their super license for 2024.

Verstappen will pay 1.2 million as an entry fee for 2024
Verstappen finished the 2023 championship at altitude 575 points. This means that Verstappen will pay the highest amount ever spent by a driver to compete in Formula 1, equal to 1.2 million euro. No one before has spent such a significant sum, which however is linked to Verstappen's super performance this season which, except for the start of the season and the Singapore GP, was absolutely uncatchable for all those who were against him. An example, just to mention the most recent, could be the last GP held, for example Abu Dhabi, when leaving Leclerc he did everything he could to overtake the Dutchman who, however, never let the Monegasque's SF-23 overtake him.
