Max Verstappen arrived in Singapore with the possibility of winning a second title, but fate made things very complicated for the Dutchman. The number one of Red Bull, after one qualifying to forget that made him start eighth, postpones his World Matchpoint to Japan.
The track and the mistakes slow down Verstappen
It wasn't a stylish weekend Monza or Belgium for Max. the comeback was not obvious, and in fact did not arrive. Verstappen got off to a terrible start risking stalemate, but after a few laps he arrived in eighth position. Alonso made life difficult for him until he stepped aside with an engine problem. At the restart after the Safety Car try to pass Norris violently blocking the front tires. Spitfire is inevitable, and Max is forced to return to the pits, concluding the race, after a few more overtakings, in seventh position.
Max is not happy: "It's not the result I wanted"
Max analyzes his difficult race, also focusing on the mistake he made: “The race didn't start well, of course I had anti-stall and had to pass multiple riders. It was very difficult to overtake the others, once the tires had warmed up, i got stuck. I tried the undercut with Lando at the Safety Car, but it didn't work. I tried, but when braking I touched the bump with the bottom and there was a lockup. The tires were too flat and I had to go back to the pits. I tried to get back into the points, but this obviously not the result I wanted. The rumors about the budget cap have not penalized me: I have faith in the team and the same team knows they have done everything correctly".
