It wasn't a special qualification for Max Verstappen. The Dutch in fact, at the end of the qualifying in Austin, ends in third place in the standings behind the two Ferrari by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
Goal race
Despite the third place, with Leclerc's penalty, the Dutchman will start from the front row tomorrow and will undoubtedly seek the attack on Carlos Sainz. Verstappen isn't afraid of the problems he got in qualifying and he's convinced that tomorrow in the race the music can change. His goal is quite clear: to try to immediately attack Carlos Sainz's Ferrari and then manage the race, as he knows how to do very well.
Verstappen greets Dietrich: "Very sad news"
Objective therefore race, with the same world champion who declared at the end of the session.
“The news of Dietrich's passing was bad for everyone. For what it has meant for Red Bull but also for the world of sport in general and especially for me. Everything he's done for my career so far and my life in general. Today is really tough, it's a very difficult day. In qualifying we tried to give everything, unfortunately we were missing something. There's a race ahead of us and tomorrow we'll try to make him proud of us. The race? Our car is stronger than qualifying. The margins were already very small today, today if we had warmed up the tires better we would have made a difference. We expect to be there fighting tomorrow."
