Montecarlo is confirmed to be the most glamorous weekend of the championship and, as expected, full of surprises. During the Friday of free tests Max Verstappen snatches the best position, behind the two Ferrari by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Red Bull in front of everyone
So we start again as always with Max Verstappen. The world champion showed great difficulties during the first free practice session, which Sainz managed to take home. Following many modifications to the rear, in the second session the music changed. Verstappen didn't achieve the best performance in a specific sector, but in Monaco the most important thing in the end is to go around the lap without affecting the traffic, which is by no means a given. Verstappen will undoubtedly fight for pole, while his teammate Perez is only seventh to understand.

Verstappen: "Ferrari has more driveability in the corners"
Good second session therefore for the Dutchman, who thus commented on his Friday"Free practice 1 was complicated. I wasn't very happy with the performance of the car or how it handled over the curbs and dips. The second session, on the other hand, went definitely better. We have taken a small step forward but lacks some cornering handling compared to the Ferrari. We have to work on these things in view of tomorrow. We are all very close and when you go to the limit you have to do something more. Pole? We think we can do it. Obviously we have to push in the same direction. The car literally improved in FP2 and this allows you to go around, push harder and even get closer to the barriers. We have the opportunity to go to the limit, but if we want to stay ahead tomorrow we have to build a little more margin”.
