It's a rather special weekend for the RedBull. in qualifications of Singapore, Max Verstappen is unable to go beyond eighth place due to a problem that highlights the moment, little sunshine, for the Austrian team.
Problems and more problems
But what happened? On the final of Q3, Verstappen had the last attempt and was literally flying. The world champion could easily attack Leclerc's time (who was on pole) but, at the last corner, he was called into the pits and was forced to abort.
Verstappen: “I had no fuel. Compromised race”
The reason? Verstappen tried to explain it in the post qualifying, without using too many words.
"If I had completed that lap I would not have had enough fuel in the car. These are things that can be checked in Q3 and should be seen first. But that clearly didn't happen and that's why I aborted the previous ride as well. I had been told to give everything in the last attempt, which in hindsight I could not have done. But I clearly in the car can not see the fuel level on the screen. It's not a good weekend and what happened is not acceptable. Even when I make a mistake it's not acceptable, but both sides must try to make the best of it. What we did today wasn't enough, it shouldn't be happening. The race is definitely compromised. Here we are not in Spa or Monza where it is easily overcome. For me tomorrow I think it will be frustrating. I will find myself stuck behind many cars".
