After a weekend to forget in Melbourne, due to reliability problems, Max Verstappen restarts from his favorite position. In the Emilia Romagna and Made in Italy GP, the Dutchman takes home the pole position by finishing ahead of Leclerc and Lando Norris.
But we are only at the beginning, Verstappen knows it and tomorrow in the Sprint he wants to try to conquer the maximum, because he knows that winning means starting from the front row also in Sunday's race: “Driving here today was tricky. The track was very slippery – declared the Dutchman in the post qualification – it was difficult to get the tires to work right. Qualifying was long and hectic, but I'm happy to be here. The track is great and punishes you heavily if you get it wrong. You can end up against the wall and we riders like this, because it's more difficult”.
The two retirements still hurt, but from Imola Verstappen wants to start a new season: “I am satisfied with the pole position. Tomorrow and Sunday will be different in terms of weather, but it's a good start to the weekend. Our first few races didn't go to plan, but we'll try to do well here."
