A day to analyze very well for Verstappen and his team. At Red Bull, on the Friday of free practice in Hungary, there were no difficultiesindeed: the Milton Keynes stables prepares for one night of hard work to try to shorten the gap with the Ferrari.
Disappointing day
It hasn't been an easy Friday for Max Verstappen. The world champion, after last week's great domination in French, a bit disappointed today. The feeling with the RB18 seemed particularly absent, not so much in the FP1(finished in second place), as in the second session. in FP2 in fact, concluded by the Dutchman in fourth place in the standings, in addition to the flying lap, the car also disappointed in terms of race pace. Too much lower than Ferrari, which seems clearly on the ball on this track.
Verstappen: "It's tougher than I thought"
May it be a setup problem? We'll find out tomorrow, in which it is also expected rain both for FP3 and for qualifying. It will therefore remain to be seen, but one thing is certain: in house Red Bull you will have to work a lot in the pits, as Verstappen also stated.
“It was more difficult than we expected. I think here we will have to look for a better balance to go from high speed to low speed areas. Sometimes it works a little better, other times it's harder. But yes, we have some work to do. I think Ferrari is one ahead of us and I think it will be difficult to beat them. We can't compete with them in the dry. But I think that during the night we will try to close the gap as much as we can and see what will happen with a different weather tomorrow".
