It wasn't a fantastic start to the weekend for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman ended Friday's free practice in fourth place in the standings Fp2, behind his teammate and the two Ferraris.
Red Bull chases
La red for the moment it seems to have something more than Red Bull. Verstappen analyzes and studies. Try to figure out what's missing from hers RB18 to challenge Leclerc. Also because, it should be remembered that pole is really important in Monaco.
Verstappen: "We still have to work"
Starting up front can be a huge advantage, which Verstappen doesn't want to let slip away:
"Overall, we looked up various things about the machine to understand its behavior. I was happier in the PL1 than in PL2 – said the Dutch– If we were to find a better balance we could extract more potential and set faster times. Clearly, to be at the level of the Ferraris we have to take a big step forward: We have to try to optimize the entire setup”.
“We have good race pace”
The Red is ahead for now. So it will be a long night at home Red Bull:
“We did quite well in terms of race pace, but there's a lot to analyze. You feel the weight of the car, you go slower, and you also feel the dips more with these cars, but that's okay. The most difficult thing is visibility: driving on this circuit is always a great frenzy" concluded the world champion.
