Verstappen's words
Perfect race, always in the lead and perfect tire management, without any degradation, when everyone is gone very struggling in the long run; and when the race ends, Johnny Herbert, a former F1 driver, congratulates him on this; but when the news flash of the penalty to Leclerc by 5 seconds for having taken advantage by going off the track and, therefore, that Max Verstappen is world champion, he doesn't believe it either and goes straight to hugging team and girlfriend Kelly Piquet. Here are his words. “I am very happy with the fact that we were able to race at the end. It was raining heavily and it was difficult to drive, but luckily we did a good number of laps and the car was flying, even on intermediate tyres. I'm very happy to have won here and to see the fans who stayed in the stands. It was getting dark at the end but I'm really glad I was able to race. Title? Winning it here is incredible”.
