Max is back. Not because he had gone away, but yesterday, due to the rain, he hadn't been able to finish in front of any of the two sessions. Despite this, the Dutchman proves to be uncatchable in the dry. The Red Bull driver conclude the qualification in Japan in pole position ahead of the two Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz.
Reprimand only
However, it was not an easy day for Verstappen. The Dutchman has concluded his Saturday with a reprimand, for nearly having a bad accident with Lando Norris. During q3, Verstappen was in the launch lap. Behind him, quite quickly, came Norris. Verstappen, not seeing it well, he lost his rear risking contact. Once they heard from both drivers, the FIA decided to punish the world champion with a reprimand.

Verstappen: "It was incredible"
Max will therefore start in front. Tomorrow could be a special day for him because, in the event of a fastest lap and victory, can become world champion. In this regard, we report his words at the end of the pole position conquered on the track.
“It was incredible to ride here again. In qualifying, with little fuel, these cars come to life already in the first sector. I'm happy to be on pole and generally super happy to be here. Car damage? Yes, I lost part of the pipe in the last part of the lap, so I couldn't improve much. But time was still enough. Episode with Lando? I was going quite slow, I was trying to warm up the tires which were cold. We had a little scare, in that moment Lando tried to avoid me but luckily nothing happened. Competition? It will be interesting to see the weather. Some say it will be dry and others say it will rain at some point in the race. We have to see what happens. I'm confident, we have a good car."
