There is so much curiosity about Barcelona. Red Bull will bring updates on the weight front while in Ferrari a real revolution is needed. Who will they favor?
From the beginning of the championship, Red Bull has faced, among the reliability problems, also those relating to the excessive weight of the RB18. However, the music from Imola has totally changed, due to a series of "slimming" updates. From there it came two wins in a row for Max Verstappen who thus recovered most of the points separating him from the leadership of Charles Leclerc who instead hopes to be able to return to victory thanks to the arrival of the first major update package.

We will only lose a few pounds
The goal for the stable of Milton Keynes, for this weekend at Barcelona is to lose another 4 kilos, after those taken off at Imola, thus approaching the ideal weight of the 2022 single-seaters. In fact, we have seen the leap of the RB18 in managing the critical factor linked to excessive weight, i.e. tire degradation.
“Our car is still a bit fat and therefore we don't have any big news apart from a few kilos less. – he said Verstappen, during the press conference that opens the weekend in Spain - We will see how much will Ferrari improve with these updates, however we are focused on ourselves and on finally living a clean weekend not like what happened in Miami. We all know the track perfectly because of the numerous tests carried out at Montmelò, I expect another very close battle”.
Of the same school of thought also the faithful squire of Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, close to renovation with the team after the excellent start to the season: “Definitely there Ferrari will improve its performance, we'll see by how much and then we will try to react and keep pushing with development. The season is very long. In Miami unfortunately the technical problem that took away my top speed prevented me from getting on the podium, I had to risk the attack on Sainz in Turn-1 in the only mini opportunity that presented itself to me, but the attack is not went well".
