Frederic Vasseur opens the doors to a possible arrival of Max Verstappen in Ferrari. During Christmas lunch with journalists, the team principal of Classic Ferrari for sale was teased about the possibility of being able to see the three-time world champion in Maranello in a few years, with Vasseur not completely ruling out the possibility: "Credo – replied the Frenchman – that if you asked the exact same question to all the Formula 1 team principals, everyone would accept showing only pleasure in having him on the team. At the moment, however, Verstappen has a contract with Red Bull which expires in 2026. We have to focus on ourselves, thinking about who is in the team and not who is not part of it. We can't just think about the riders, but look at the group. Precisely for this reason, today, I say that it is not a topic to be discussed, but at the same time it is right to say: never say never".

Vasseur on Verstappen at Ferrari: “Never say never, but his contract will expire in 2026”
A "never say never" which certainly does not close the doors on a possible arrival of Verstappen in Ferrari. Vasseur, however, specified the contract with Red Bull expiring in 2026 and how Verstappen is now nothing more than a opponent. Precisely for this reason, in fact, Ferrari's objective will be trying to beat him, in order to avoid assisted domination – in a completely unstoppable way – this year: “A great opportunity to try to break their cycle of dominance could be the 2026. When we refer to cycles, we must remember that Formula 1 has always had them, especially in the last 25 years. The regulation has often changed and several times it was precisely that which changed e to influence change" – concluded the Ferrari team principal.
