The weekend in Baku was one of the best chaotic of season. Lots of red flags, very close times and a Ferrari that looks like reborn: a spectacular mix that gave all the fans a wonderful weekend.
F1 will be Ba(c)ku: renewal until 2026
The FIA, seeing the numbers and the twists and turns this year on the Azerbaijani circuit and in the past seasons, looked for and found theagreement with the city route. Contract signed and renewal arrived: the top category of Motorsport will race in Azerbaijan at least until 2026.
All enthusiasts can only be happy with this news, even when looking back at previous vintages. Just think that for each edition there was a different winner. Furthermore, with the very long straight, the opportunities for overtaking and counter-overtaking are numerous. It is also a circuit where the real skill of the driver is seen in the most difficult points, such as in the area of the Castle.
Proud Domenicali: "Really happy with the renewal"
After the news, there was no shortage of words from the CEO of F1, Stefano domenicali, who recalled how some of the most memorable grands prix of the last few years took place on the Baku circuit: “The Baku circuit has now become a popular track for F1. It is an incredible track where many things often happen and which has hosted some of the most memorable GPs in recent years. We are happy to be able to extend our relationship with Azerbaijan, with the aim of continuing to grow together”.
Liberty Media's objective therefore seems to be clear: Azerbaijan and F1 have a future very long together. The growth of visibility of this grand prix is obvious, and if the races should continue to be like this compelling, we can rest assured that in these years we will see other renewals between the Azerbaijani track and the premier category of Motorsport.
