I rookie are dominating the 2025 Formula 1 season. Some of them have been preceded by a lot of chatter, others have already had the chance to shine, for others that moment is still far away. In Formula 1 there is no doubt, it doesn't take much to find yourself in the spotlight, even after just a few races, but this is not what happens to everyone. Some rookies, in fact, do not grow under the spotlight, rather they take home their satisfactions silently. Who of the rookies of this 2025 season is growing without hype, and who is not growing at all?
Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman: Rookies in the spotlight
Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman, without a doubt the most talked about rookies of this year. Between those who defend Sir Lewis Hamilton's former seat, and those who perform miracles with a not entirely manageable Haas. These two rookies are definitely making people talk about them in Formula 1.
Antonelli is showing steady growth, while Bearman is fighting tooth and nail to bring the team some points, often doing much better than his teammate Esteban Ocon. Although the expectations are very high for these very young rookies, all this hype could easily become overwhelming pressure. So far, the two seem to be managing the aura of fame that has been created around them very well, but what will happen when a small mistake makes them falter?

Isack Hadjar: Silent (but not so much) promise of 2025
After a first race Dishearteningly, Isack Hadjar took very little time to show what he is made of. Scoring points in both Japan and Saudi Arabia, Hadjar is also showing that he is fighting tooth and nail to bring home valuable points for the team, finding himself just one point behind Oliver Bearman in the drivers' standings.
The Franco-Algerian is proving to be a silent growth, in some ways still a bit too raw, but this boy will be talked about very soon. Someone is already mentioning him “Petit Prost”, in honor of his idol Alain Prost, for his tactical driving style… Will his talent be noticed in the short term? Or could he grow in the shadows for a while longer?

Jack Doohan and Gabriel Bortoleto: Facing a dead end in F1
Jack Doohan and Gabriel Bortoleto… we are not there at all. Two very different drivers, yet both forced by a common destiny, the back of the grid. In fact, the two drivers have not yet brought any points to their respective Alpine and Sauber teams, and more than accomplices of a silent growth, they seem victims of a noisy collapse.
The stakes are high for Doohan, who has been in the eye of Flavio Briatore's storm since the start of the season, if he doesn't start bringing results to the team very soon. we will see it replaced by Argentine Franco Colapinto. So far, Doohan seems to have also made some pretty serious mistakes, which have cost the team a lot, even though the Alpine car this year seems to be much better than in previous years.
Gabriel Bortoleto's seems to be the result of a series of bad choices. From the stars to the stables. From winning the Formula 2 world championship in 2024, to having to fight to finish a race in Formula 1 in 2025. But the Sauber car, unfortunately, does not seem to want to collaborate with this growth process at all.

The first season is always tough for everyone, even if for some it is harder than others. Between those who grow and those who don't move a step, the season continues, not without surprises. The rookies of this 2025 season will continue to follow this path in Formula 1, or will they turn all the cards on the table?
