And now we can say it: the 2022 season has officially been consigned to the archives. In fact, yesterday they took place, again on the Yas Marina track at Abu Dhabi, the test Pirelli 2023. A final act that marked the end of the long 2022 season.
Ferrari in front of everyone
The tests carried out yesterday were important for see several drivers on the track already with the new cars. It is the case of Pierre Gasly on Alpine, who ends the day in fourth place in the standings. Same speech also for Fernando Alonso on Aston Martin, which does not go beyond twelfth place, or like the long-awaited Nico Hulkenberg in Haas only nineteenth. The session, divided into a morning and an afternoon shift, he sees the three Ferraris in front with Carlos Sainz leading followed by Charles Leclerc and Robert Shwartzman. However, a positive way to greet 2022 from the Maranello stable.
Schwartzman's comment
At the end of the tests, there was no shortage of words from Ferrari test driver Robert Shwartzman who commented on his day.
“We concluded a positive day of testing here in Abu Dhabi made up of 116 laps and a lot of work. The program was quite complete and included flying laps, race simulations, various types of practice, including starts. I think I made a good step forward from last Friday's free practice 1 and for most of the session I was pretty close to the pace of Charles and Carlos, which is another positive for me. You can always improve but I think I showed my potential. In general, I'm also very happy with the work I was able to do this year with the team in Maranello and on the simulator, experiencing behavior on the real track that is very similar to that of the virtual car. It was great to have another opportunity to drive for the Scuderia and I can say I really enjoyed the F1-75 today.”
