That there were some threads between Red Bull and Porsche for a can supply of engines it was already known. But after Audi's announcement and the date set for October 15 to join the circus from 2026, the situation it seems to get complicated.
Porsche Powertrains or Red Bull Powertrains?
Since Honda decided to leave F1, Red Bull has found itself at having to produce both the chassis and the engines. For this, the agreement with Porsche could be very beneficial. In fact, Red Bull could employ more engineers to develop the chassis for the coming seasons. In this way, the task of cleaning could be left to the workers of the German house engine production which would still be produced a Milton Keynes. At the moment, however, everything seems to be running smoothly and there is no problem given that, despite having formally exited the business of F1, some Honda employees remained to work for the Austrian team, this means that the project and the philosophy of the engines built it has remained practically the same. The only limit for Porsche may be the deadline set by F1 (15 October 2022) for officially enter F1. Audi already has and 90% should acquire Sauber and produce engines, but the team has not yet been revealed, while the other German company, if it sees the possibility of this collaboration fail, should find another team that could be called Williams, but they still are only rumors and there isn't nothing confirmed.
