Schedule change. The Sprint Shootout scheduled for 15.00pm is was postponed for 20 minutes. The start of the qualifying which will decide the starting grid of the Sprint scheduled for 19.30 pm has therefore been postponed. This decision, however, does not appear to be the only news: the Qatar Sprint Shootout, in fact, is postponed for twenty minutes and it will be preceded by a free practice session lasting approximately ten minutes.
Sprint Shootout in Qatar postponed by twenty minutes, the reason
The reason for this sudden, and even strange, change of plan is very simple and concerns the tyres. Pirelli, in fact, yesterday noted following the usual analyses, obvious damage to the tyres. The problem would be related to the shape of the curbs of the Losail route, which had already affected the teams in 2021. For this reason, the FIA has decided to change track limits – great subject of discussion in the qualifications carried out yesterday – in turns 12 and 13, thus introducing a mini-free practice session. The objective is, therefore, to ensure that the drivers can get used to the track changes made, considering that later in the day they will be engaged, albeit for a few laps, in a race.

At 15.00 pm we hit the slopes
Small change, therefore, regarding the start time of the Sprint Shootout, but it will undoubtedly be interesting to immediately understand how the drivers will be able to adapt to the changes made on the track. The appointment, for this reason, always stays at 15.00pm with a mini-free practice session that promises to be very interesting indeed.
