There is less and less left until the end of the season and, with six races to go, the attention of great fans is also turned to the next year, 2024, and on the drivers we will see on the track. To date, at least for the moment, the only team that has not yet made its line up official is the Williams that, with the certainty of having Alexander Albon also in 2024, ponders Logan Sargeant's future.
Sargeant: a season not exactly to remember
When we refer to Logan Sargeant, we know we're talking about a rookie. Last year in F2, the American managed to obtain the famous superlicence in the last race in Abu Dhabi, which was fundamental for moving up to the top category. Sargeant's season, however, cannot be considered excellent: still 0 points in the standings and many, especially recently, errors that have forced him to retire on more than one occasion.
Sargeant, his future is written: the renewal with Williams will arrive
Despite the American's great difficulty, and the truly overwhelming comparison with teammate Albon, it seems that Williams still wants to trust him. Based on what was reported by Motorsport.com Italy with Roberto Chinchero, the negotiations between the Grove team and Sargeant for a further contract renewal until 2024 are proceeding and quite quickly.

Williams team principal James himself gives us a clue following the Japanese GP vowels"I'll be very honest about Sargeant: he has very specific goals and he will have to try to achieve them before the end of the season. We are working with him continuously to ensure he can reach them. We really want him to make it and we want him in our car next year too. That's really what we want. Ultimately, just think about it: we took a guy from Formula 2 without him having done any testing in a Formula 1. He subsequently did a day and a half of testing in Bahrain and then we wished him the best in an entire season as complicated as that of Formula 1".
Vowles: “There is a difference between Albon's car and Sargeant's”
A season, the one carried out so far by Sargeant, not particularly brilliant, but Vowles has the explanation"There is a difference between Albon's car and Sargeant's. In fact, on Alex's car, there were upgrades that Logan's didn't have, and that's caused by the number of crashes we've had. Often, when you see a difference in performance, it's not exactly what it looks like on the timesheets."

"Furthermore - Vowles added – if we consider the case of Suzuka, Logan did very well all weekend. In the third free practice session he set a time very similar to Alex's and he also managed to stay on his times during qualifying, without forgetting that Suzuka it is one of the most difficult circuits of the season. So the progress that has been made is there, but they are clearly covered by a number of things, including the incidents he was involved in".
