If it was necessary to immediately send a strong message after what was seen in Baku, Carlos Sainz he did it. In fact, the Spanish closes the FP2 of Miami Friday in second place in the standings, ahead of teammate Leclerc and behind Max's Red Bull Verstappen.
Ferrari, the updates work
A super important result for the number #55 of the grid. Sainz is back from a weekend, that of Baku, in which he complained that he never found grip with the car. The new update package, which has seen a new bottom on the SF-23, seems to work and very well too. Ferrari, however, still causes concern on the race pace. If on the one hand the red he can aspire to, or at least compete for, pole position, on the other hand the question mark on the race pace is still very evident.

Sainz: "I did the whole program"
In the end, only the competition will give us the truthful answer to this question. Meanwhile, Sainz enjoys his second place and thus analyzes the Friday held on the track: "As expected, Friday in Miami was a busy one, with high temperatures and many laps completed. The asphalt is very different from last year's and so it was important to get used to the new track conditions. We completed the agreed program, tested all three compounds available and collected a lot of data to analyze in view of qualifying and the race".
