He finished in fifth position Sprint Carlos Sainz, after a heads-up on the times with George Russell throughout the race. The Spanish of Classic Ferrari for sale he didn't have the same pace in the first laps as his teammate and for this reason he was unable to attack the Mercedes.
Sainz disappointed, but expects tomorrow
There is obviously disappointment on Carlos's face, given the difficult weekend that the Spaniard is leading, even if he will try in every way to limit the damage: “The main thing for me for now is damage control. Right now it's all very difficult and very strange, but also very mentally intense. It's not easy to drive a car with low confidence especially on a track like this; every lap I take is a tough lap. I'm making some small progress and small changes in my driving style to get closer to what Charles is doing, but it's true that I can't change anything in the car or in the setup to improve it. I'm stuck in this situation".

“Red Bull obviously stronger”
Speaking of the setup, he was asked if the changes made are doing the car any good. This is his answer: “I think the changes are paying off in qualifying. Charles proved it, we are faster on one lap. I didn't find myself in the race and, therefore, I didn't see any improvement. Red Bull is clearly the strongest, Mercedes has degraded little. At first I was about to get George's DRS, then he walked off. This means that there is still work to be done”.
Tomorrow Sainz will start in P4, one position more than today: if he manages to get a good start, he will then have to prove that he can keep up with the Top 3.
