Carlos Sainz had a good start to the weekend in Bahrain. If the performance of the SF-24 on the flying lap does not seem potentially pole position-worthy, the red car's race pace testifies to the excellent step taken in Maranello over the winter. Below are the words of Sainz after fourth place in FP2 of the Bahrain GP.
A Friday in line with expectations
Good start to the weekend for the red. The race pace of the SF-24 is significantly better than that of the SF-23, although the distance from Red Bull does not yet seem negligible. The Spaniard finished FP1 in eleventh place, thanks to the failure to achieve performance on the flying lap. Good start for the Madrilenian during the second free practice session. Number 55 closed his fastest lap almost four tenths behind Alonso, concluding the hour of testing in fourth position behind his compatriot. The pace of the red team was also good in FP2. The feeling is that the margins among those chasing Red Bull are really narrow.

Sainz's words after FP2 of the Bahrain GP
At the end of FP2, Carlos Sainz he expressed himself like this on the redhead's Thursday: "It went well. Today was a rather complicated day because there was a stronger wind than the other days here in Bahrain. For this reason it was more complicated to drive the car than in testing. We have seen many competitive teams and the grid is very close. It should be an interesting weekend".
