Carlos Sainz already think about it Ferrari of 2024. The Spanish driver, in an exclusive interview given to the newspaper "AS”, he looked back on his last year in Formula 1, already marking his objectives for 2024: “My season was similar to 2021: I had higher peaks, just think to the victory in Singapore and the podium in Monza, but also low peaks, such as the penalties of Australia and Las Vegas. My season though, overall, was very solid, despite – says Sainz - it didn't end as I would have liked, especially after an excellent second part of the season".
Sainz: “I feel really improved”
The desire to be able to get back on track is great, as is the desire to win. Sainz closed out 2023 by signing Red Bull's only non-victory, in Singapore. A success that has allowed the Spaniard to grow even more: “I feel like that I improved a lot. Together with the team we fought for very important things: this makes me proud, even if I know I can do even better. Should we be able to take a step forward, then in 2024 we will be fighting with Red Bull".

Everything, therefore, depends on the car: the 676 who comes will have to allow the two Ferraris to be able to compete with Verstappen, the true dominator of 2023: "That the 2023 car would be difficult to drive we understood it right away – revealed Sainz –. We didn't understand what was really happening and what we were missing compared to Red Bull. But it's a bit like the history of Formula 1: just look at McLaren, which started from behind and grew more and more, without forgetting Mercedes which was fast in some races and not in others.".
Sainz on the 2024 Ferrari: "I want a different car from the 2023 one"
Sainz's secret dream is to be able to fight for victory. To do this, however, we will need a completely different Ferrari than this year's: "I would like a car that is very different from the last one. It was said and written that the 2023 one was very suited to my riding style, when I struggled so much to understand and understand it. I hope the Ferrari of 2024 – Sainz admitted – can be more versatile and easier to tune".

And on the relationship with Leclerc…
Ferrari will have to try to become competitive again. For these reasons, a car that is worthy of the driver pairing will be needed which, according to Sainz, is "the most balanced of all. I get along very well with Leclerc: he's very fast but we respect each other a lot. We have been together for three years and there has never been an accident on the track. Everyone thinks that having two strong riders is a disadvantage, but I believe it is a great strength”, concluded the Ferrari driver.
