Carlos Sainz appeared fit in this one qualifying session. However, he failed in the tough task of staying ahead of Max Verstappen on Red Bull to move it back one square. The Spanish he will start 18th.
Sainz to appeal: mission climbed
The number 55 of the red has in front of it a fatigue of Hercules. The Madrilenian will start from the 18th box, but some "help" to get back on track, Carlos, he will have it. The F1-75 will have a exhaust trim which will allow Sainz, reconciling everything with the long straights of the racetrack, to aim for approach the podium area. Carlos said he was confident about the pace of the redhead seen in free practice. If together with what has been said, Sunday is seasoned with the hope of a lucky safety car, the Spaniard certainly has reason to dream of the podium area.
Sainz positive for competitiveness: his words
Carlos said to himself happy with his qualification, remaining partly disillusioned by the penalty right in the home grand prix: “It was an excellent qualifying, I felt very good and pushed hard. I missed the slipstream at the end to fight for pole, I'm starting from behind and it doesn't change me much. I had to take risks to compensate for the lack of wake, I was slow in the straight and didn't improve. I don't want to lie, it hurts to start from behindespecially thinking about how competitive the car is and how good I'm feeling to drive. I'll do my best to give a lot of emotions and make a comeback, I would have liked to have been up front together with Leclerc to try and score one-two for these fantastic fans".
