Carlos Sainz got the best time in the only ones free practice held Friday afternoon. The two Ferrari drivers, unlike some teams, mounted a soft tire a few minutes before the end of the session. In qualifications of Brazil however, Sainz was unable to go beyond eighth place, which became seventh following the penalty given to Russell.
Sainz takes eighth place in Brazil qualifying
