Since the Jeddah Grand Prix, if there is one team that emerges triumphant it is Ferrari. Regardless of Leclerc's victory which did not come, the Reds collected a second place with the Monegasque and a third with Carlos Sainz. Out of 88 points available, 78 were collected by the Maranello team.
Incredible numbers, especially if you evaluate a Carlos Sainz who is not yet in perfect chemistry with the F1-75, at least according to him. In fact, the results don't say this, but the Spaniard knows that he can still improve, as he explained at the end of the GP: “Departure is departure. Charles didn't influence me: he made his choice of him, which probably wasn't the best for me. But one positive thing is that we got off to a good start and I was there fighting."
The Perez question
The race of the 55 Ferrari driver in Jeddah was a bit special, especially considering the Perez question: “It certainly took away the possibility of attacking Verstappen, given that my pace with the Hard was much more similar to his. In the end I don't quite understand why they didn't just let me go through with the Safety Car, it was clear I was in front of the SC line. We need to understand why the FIA sometimes does these things that nobody understands. We talked to all the riders and nobody knows why they didn't let me pass immediately, so that at the restart I could have fought with Max and Perez with me. Instead I'm not going to fight with Perez because then he lets me pass later. Formula 1 things that we still have to fix ”.
The complete analysis
Finally, on the general analysis of the race, Sainz added:“Satisfied only with the last ten laps. From my point of view, Red Bull managed to find more pace after the Virtual Safety Car, when the tires got cold. Maybe they were faster than us there, but it was so tight that it was the details that made the difference. For sure they were much faster on the straights and us in the corners. We need to adjust the balance better, because when it's time to fight in the race, they have a small advantage".
