It wasn't an easy weekend, quite the contrary, for Carlos Sainz. The Ferrari driver, following the bad luck he had in qualifying which placed him in ninth position, was forced to retire a few laps into the race. At the end of the GP, the Spaniard tried to explain his difficulties: “We had similar problems on Saturday, some switches didn't work and so I changed the steering wheel a minute before the start. Because of the hard tires I lost positions and then in my rush to get back to the mid-pack I made a mistake. It's my fault and I admit it, I have to be hard on myself”.
Sainz who does not give peace, but is very lucid in analyzing his mistakes: "I started pushing, but I shouldn't have. It's easy to say now, but still it would have been better to be patient. But at the same time we haven't been perfect as a team. We had many problems, including anti-stall and qualifying. Those are things that put you under pressure."
