Was a weekend very difficult for Classic Ferrari for sale. The stable of Maranello was already aware of the dangers that the Qatar track presented and did not go any further fifth position with Charles Leclerc, surpassed even by Mercedes Russell, found himself last following the touch on the first lap with teammate Hamilton. The one who didn't take part in the Qatar GP very soon was the other Ferrari, that of Carlos Sainz, forced upon withdrawal even before the traffic lights went out. It would have been very interesting to understand how Sainz would have adapted to the extreme conditions of the track and above all if he had managed to make an important comeback with his SF-23 - as he started in 12th position.

Ferrari: Sainz, retirement in Qatar linked to a fuel leak
The question arises spontaneously: but what forced Sainz to retire in Qatar? There is talk of one fuel tank leak which, at the end of the Grand Prix, Vasseur he explained to Sky Sport: “I have no idea what the problem comes from, but we have to investigate. We didn't have time to take the tank out and figure it out”. We need to investigate even if, at least from the first analyses, it seems that the structure of the curbs (also modified before the Sprint) had a really great influence: “We can't rule it out. Even if we don't know, we can think so because the loss appears to be particularly large, therefore certifies the presence of significant damage: it could have happened during the Sprint on Saturday".

Sainz: “Impossible to repair the damage before the race”
Carlos also tells what happened Sainz, biggest victim of the SF-23 knockout: “The problem I have had can be tied to curbs, although we can't know for sure until we examine the car thoroughly. At the moment it's too early to tell, therefore it remains only in the field of hypotheses”. A problem that prevented the Spaniard from taking to the track, but which was really impossible to repair? Sainz's response is very clear: “Unfortunately the fuel loss was too great: the damage was impossible to repair before the race".
