"When we say Leclerc, it almost goes without saying, we are talking about a great driver. I think his renewal with Ferrari is a completely natural thing”. So Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull, who doesn't mince words to have his say on the Leclerc's renewal with Ferrari. "I'm sure – continued the British world champion with his team in the constructors' championship – that in Maranello they will want to keep him, also because, if they don't have to they would be gods crazy people".
Horner doesn't hide: "Ferrari must think about renewing Leclerc"
Quick and concise. Christian Horner, interviewed by Sky F1 at Autosport Awards, expressed his opinion on the possibility of seeing the contract renewal between Leclerc and Ferrari. The Monegasque's contract, as well as that of his teammate Sainz, it expires in 2024, but the will of the prancing Horse is that of wanting to confirm both drivers. Ultimately, it was also John himself who admitted it Elkann who admitted that neither Sainz nor Leclerc will leave the Scuderia but “they will remain 100%".

The point on negotiations
The negotiations, at least at the moment, they are still in progress. Ferrari works, as told by Giuliano Duchessa, on a three-year period for Leclerc, although the possibility that his contract could include some clause for a hypothetical extension is not excluded. The will of both parties is to continue together, with the signing of the Monegasque who in the new extension should reach the figure of approximately 50 million. Slightly different story, however, with regards to Carlos Sainz. Ferrari's idea, also revealed in the offer made to the Spaniard, is to set the renewal agreement on a biennial, until 2026, to then understand and study together - in view of the change in regulations - the possibilities of being able or not to continue a marriage started in 2021 together.
