It certainly wasn't an easy year for Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian is experiencing the 2023 season always in the pits, being third Red Bull driver. It is unlikely that he will be able to return with a permanent place on the track in Formula 1 next year, even if Ricciardo a little wish he actually expressed it.
Possible employment in Alpha?
In recent weeks there has been talk several times about the possibility of seeing Daniel Ricciardo in place of Nyck De Vries in Alpha Tauri. The Dutchman is undoubtedly not shining and, despite not having received an ultimatum, is heavily under observation. In fact, no one excludes that by continuing at this rate - like for example in Canada, where he finished in last place in the standings - De Vries could say goodbye to the circus less than a year after his permanent arrival on the starting grid. Ricciardo would be an excellent name to replace him - also considering the link between Red Bull and AlphaTauri - but it seems that in Faenza the most popular name is that of Lawson.

Ricciardo: “I dream of ending my career at Red Bull”
With such a situation, and one Schumacher trying to be seen in Williams, it is really very difficult for Ricciardo to make his way. Despite everything, his dream - as stated exclusively to ESPN - is very clear: wanting to return as an official driver for Red Bull. “For me – admitted Ricciardo – it would be like a fairy tale. Honestly, if it were up to me, a fairytale ending would be that of end my career at Red Bull. But we'll see. I'll probably have to travel a bit, but it's really nice to be back here."
Possible scenario?
It certainly won't be easy for him, considering that Verstappen is immovable, but watch out for Sergio Perez: in serious difficulty and out of contract next year.
