A few days after the presentation in New York the Red Bull RB19, single-seaters for the 2023 season that will be driven by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, took to the track for the first 100 km on the occasion of the filming day. The event, reserved for a select few, was held at Silverstone. Given the bogus presentation in New York – the team only presented the livery with a show car of the RB18 – there was a lot of anticipation for the filming day, the first opportunity to get a glimpse of the actual single-seaters.
However, despite a few frames extrapolated from amateur videos it was not possible to grasp much on the technical details of the RB19. A few differences have not escaped the most attentive eyes, but after further photos to prove these, tests on the track will above all be needed, to demonstrate if certain solutions work. The RB19 is a car born from a winning project, that of the RB18, which has already brought two titles to Milton Keynes: drivers and constructors. The newcomer clearly, it does not intend to fall short of expectations. On the occasion of the filming day the reigning champion Max Verstappen commented on his first day on the RB19.
Max: “Good impression"
Red Bull is already starting from a good base, a rather embarrassed Verstappen also repeated it during the "presentation" of the RB19, in which a new one was also announced partnerships with Ford since 2026. The RB18 is a winning machine and its heir can only be one. Although the filming day is not a real test, being mainly dedicated to sponsors and for commercial purposes, it is nonetheless the first opportunity the driver has to test the new single-seater and give some feedback to the team.

In this case Max's feedback was positive. In fact, the world champion underlined that he had a good time in these few laps aboard the RB19 which still wears the number 1. "I just rode the RB19 for the first time – Max said in a video published on Red Bull's social networks – of course it's just a filming day, but I had a good first impression, everything worked wonderfully and that's exactly what we hope for on these occasions. I'm looking forward to going to Bahrain."
Fortunately, the wait is almost over, even for the riders who are eager to get back on track. In less than two weeks with i pre-season testi in Bahrain - from 23 to 25 February - we will finally be able to observe all the 2023 single-seaters more closely. Officially heading into the start of the season.
