Qualifying has just finished a Silverstone and, among the most difficult conditions, it was Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard pulled out a magic from the hat in the very last minute available, thus finding the first pole in his career. Carlos is the 104th pilot of the Circus to conquer her. A special day for the Spaniard who grabbed the poleman wheel passed to him by a true legend of this sport: Nigel Mansell, world champion in 1992. Tomorrow Sainz will start with a completely free view but he will have to defend himself more than ever because behind him there are they are two very hungry lion cubs.
Verstappen mocked, Leclerc not precise, then Perez
Going down the rankings, let's see in second position Max Verstappen, first in both Q1 and Q2 and for most of Q3. The Dutchman is outwitted at the last minute by the Spanish of the Reds, but he is also very unfortunate after finding yellow flag in the last attempt while he was getting better. The yellow flag in the final of qualifying, which was displayed for a very few seconds, was caused da Charles Leclerc: even him it was getting better and was – according to telemetry – faster than both Verstappen and Sainz. However the Monegasque he turned around in a stupendous 360° bringing too much speed and causing aquaplaning at Becketts exit. Fourth Sergio Perez who failed to recover enough energy to score the last shot.

Lewis ok, Russell meh
Quinto Lewis Hamilton always engaged in the fight for the second and sometimes also the front row on the grid, but then the efficiency of Red Bull e Ferrari she made herself heard. Probably the most disappointing of these qualifications – together with Aston Martin – it's George Russell: Enough anonymous compared to what was shown in free practice closes in misery eighth position.
Zhou and Latifi in Q3!
Together with Sainz instead, those who they stood out the most I am without a doubt Guanyu Zhou and Nicholas Latifi, respectively in ninth and tenth position. If the Chinese from Alfa Romeo is proving to finally got to grips with the car, it is a very big surprise to see the Canadian in his Williams, after the many criticisms received in recent years, put it in Q3 and it is even more impressive seeing where is his partner of stable Alex Albon (P16).
And the others?
Between Hamilton (P5) and Russell (P8) there are Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso, so all in all a good qualification for them. Behind Latifi (P10) Gasly, Bottas, Tsunoda, Ricciardo, Ocon, Albon, Magnussen, a very disappointed Sebastian Vettel with an Aston Martin in crisis with both German and Stroll that is in last position. In the nineteenth Mick Schumacher.
