With a look to the future. The FIA is already working on the tire issue in view of 2025. The Federation has in fact opened a tender to allow tire manufacturing companies to become the exclusive supplier of Formula 1 and its minor categories (Formula 2 e Formula 3).
Tires 2025, the FIA tender
From the tender published by the FIA, some key points emerge on which the companies will have to focus. Primarily, the dimensions: in fact confirmed the 18 inches. Another important issue concerns the goal of minimizing overheating, trying to get less and less degradation (a great enemy of Ferrari).. Specifically, the FIA requires: “Further technology upgrades are to include a requirement for tires to be equipped with electronic identification to improve the efficiency of testing procedures during the race weekend".

Pirelli will be there
The contract with Pirelli, which has been supplying the tires since 2011, expires in 2024 but the Italian manufacturer has no intention of abandoning the Circus. Mario Isola, in fact, has repeated several times the will on the part of Pirelli to be the only tire supplier for Formula 1 teams, confirming that they will take part in the tender which will be valid for the three-year period from 2025 to 2027, with the opportunity to extend until 2028.
