Time passes, as does the desire to understand and know who will ultimately be the tire supplier to Formula 1 from 2025 to 2027 – more option for 2028. The FIA has published in recent weeks the tender in which it allowed all tire manufacturers to be able to participate, as long as the various requests were respected, with also an environmental issue that absolutely should not be underestimated.
Pirelli and Bridgestone pass the first phase of the tender with flying colors
Based on what has filtered in these days, in addition to the classic Pirelli – current tire supplier in the circus – is also in the game for 2025 a new supplier who chose to challenge the company with the long P. Let's talk about Bridgestone which, after the seasons from 1997 to 2010, has chosen to retrace the Formula 1 path. The decision should be made by the end of July and time is ticking more and more, but there seems to be some news.

Based on what was reported by Motorsport.com Italia, it seems that both Pirelli and Bridgestone - although it cannot be ruled out that there are other companies that participated in the FIA tender - have fully respected all the parameters dictated by the Federation, obtaining the OK to move on to the next phase. We remind you that we are also talking about the next seasons single supply – therefore excluding the possibility of seeing both companies in Formula 1 in the coming years.
Pirelli not renewing? Possible change of course
If the FIA tests have been passed, and even brilliantly, the one that takes center stage is the commercial issue, led by Formula 1 and therefore by Stefano Domenicali. Various topics are on the desk of the CEO of F1, in which we must not underestimate the possibility that Pirelli - if it does not renew the contract from 2025 - could decide to do not continue working on tires without tire warmers scheduled for the start of next season, as they would be used exclusively for one year.

Pay attention to the role of the stables
For these reasons, Pirelli would like a response quickly, but at the moment we still have to wait. It can't be ruled out either the role that Formula 1 teams can play, with Classic Ferrari for sale which - as Motorsport.com Italia reports - naturally aims for continuity with Pirelli, also in the name of Italianness. Different discussion, but still with the same result - that is, continuing with Pirelli - also on the part of Red Bull, who is currently the total master of this championship.
Who will win
What will be the final choice? Today it is impossible to say too much. Each element can be decisive in a battle that, after all, has just begun.
