Oscar Piastres with an open heart, retracing his first year at McLaren and focusing attention on the objectives for 2024. In an exclusive interview on the McLaren website Formula 1, the McLaren driver took stock of his first season – almost unthinkable seeing it on the track – in F1. A vintage characterized by bassi, especially the initial ones, but by many alti which saw the Australian fight consistently for the second part of the season try to reach the podium. "If there's one thing that really hurt me, that was it the missed podium at Silverstone. I kept thinking about the possibility of having that opportunity again, which then came with third place in Suzuka. I have to say that doing it in front of that audience was something really satisfying. It was a really nice moment, one of the best weekends of the season."

Piastri: “McLaren's goals for 2024? Come back to win"
The podium has arrived twice over the course of the season. Now the will is to want to return to win. To do this, however, you will need the car. At McLaren they know they can do it and trying to raise the bar is part of one of the objectives for 2024 of both Piastres that of Norris. "Credo, or at least I hope that we will have a greater chance of being able to fight for victory” – explained Piastri –. The Australian wants and dreams of it victory. A chance that he had the opportunity to savor (without yet achieving) over the course of a weekend, in particular the one in Qatar. Piastri won the Sprint, a moment he will never forget. “Doubtless – said the rookie – Qatar was by detachment the best weekend of the 2023 season. We had a clear opportunity to win a non-Grand Prix, but still being able to win the Sprint was a proud moment for me. I didn't realize how proud I was of myself, also because the next day we would have had the race, but immediately afterwards I thought that I certainly couldn't get better than this".
