Was a good start weekend for Red Bull. In Baku, for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the Austrian team concluded in fact at first place in the standings with Perez in FP1 and according to in PF2, while with Verstappen he signed in both sessions the third best time.
Perez: "It wasn't an easy day"
Not bad as a start, especially if you evaluate the good things Perez did however, he was not so happy with the last session.
"It was a good start to the day but Free Practice 2 didn't go as we would have liked. We probably went the wrong way in the setup. We tried to experiment – he tried to explain the freshly renewed Mexican – but they didn't work and we weren't able to solve our problems”.
“We have a very good pace”
So it will be a night's work at Red Bull, to try to solve the problems Checo suffers from. On this, however, the Mexican feels quite serene and peaceful.
"But now we have good data with both compounds (Medium and Soft, ed) even in long runs. We have two different tire strategies, so we will have some good data to check tonight and hopefully we can put it all together in time for tomorrow's qualifying. We definitely have work to do, also because the Ferraris look strong, especially in the second sector, through the corners. We have to find something there to fight them tomorrow. We also struggle when braking due to bumps. It's really complicated."
