Play the Mexican anthem in that of Singapore. Perez the grand prix is taken by force right from the start scene of the Asian city-state. Perez risked a penalty but escaped it, earning his second win of the season, after that of Munich.
Perez pardoned, but the victory is deserved
Checo overtook Charles Leclerc with a perfect shot. For the rest of the race he found himself managing a margin of a few seconds over Leclerc. The number 11 of Red Bull he resisted very well the pressure put on him by the Monegasque for several consecutive rounds. The Mexican also committed a violation: did not respect the distance from the Safety Car, twice. Identical events have in the past resulted in very bitter penalties for the defendant. However, Perez received the blessing from the FIA, who dropped the win to No. 11.
Checo happy and vague about the Safety Car
Perez says he is satisfied, remaining doubtful about the investigations by the FIA regarding his violations: "Without a doubt it was my best performance. I controlled the race even though warming up the tires was difficult to manage. The last laps were very intense. I didn't feel much fatigue in the car, as soon as I got off I felt it all. I gave my all to win today. Investigation? I have no idea what happened. I tried to increase the lead. I hope it's enough. Title? I think Max will be able to win in Japan. It was a great day for me today".
