A crackling start only to collapse mid-season. This is the report of Sergio's 2023 vintage Perez. The Red Bull driver, following the Japanese GP, continues to show great difficulty with his RB19, with the gap from his teammate Verstappen which is getting bigger and bigger.
A weekend to forget
It certainly wasn't an easy weekend for Perez in Suzuka. The Mexican was indeed forced to retire, following a contact - in which among other things the culprit was himself - with Magnussen's Haas. Accident which caused a couple of damages to the RB19 of the Mexican, forced to leave the race early, also accumulating two penalties, both five seconds. All this while, on the track, teammate Verstappen brought home yet another Grand Prix of the season, which sees him getting ever closer to his third consecutive title.
Perez does not hide the difficulties: "I lost the feeling with Red Bull"
It is useless to hide it: there is a Perez case. Despite the difficulties, however, the Mexican's future is not at risk and his contract until 2024 will be respected. But what no longer worked in number #11 of the grid, so much so that it collapsed 177 lengths from your teammate? Perez himself tries to give an explanation in an exclusive interview with De Limburger: “When the season started, the car suited me perfectly. Then during the season it evolved and, after Miami, she got further and further away from having my style. I had a car that It didn't suit my needs and that's why I missed out on Q3 so many times, which made me lose so much trust, making me enjoy the whole thing very little".

“Verstappen adapts to changes quickly”
A problem of feeling with the car which, on the other side of the garage, Max didn't accuse at all"Max, on the other hand, is able to adapt to things very quickly, while I have much more difficulty. He – Perez admitted – he always manages to extract the most from the car and does so every weekend, and this is undoubtedly something that I admire from him: he always manages to perform at the top and with his skills he always proves to be at the 100%, I think that's his specialty. In addition, I must say that he is really a hard worker and I understand very well why he is a winner. If things go wrong, he immediately understands what's going wrong".

Perez falls back: "In 2024 I will have the opportunity to fight for the title, I will not have difficulties with Red Bull"
With a season now nearing its end, and the seat confirmed, Perez is already thinking about next year, in which he hopes to change many things: “At the beginning of the season I was fighting for the title, but from May everything changed. I drove without having the right feeling but I'm ready to reset everything for 2024, in which I am convinced that I will have my chance to buy for the title".
