After the end-of-year report cards of the 22 drivers who raced in 2023, it is time to evaluate the performances of the respective 10 teams. Let's find out who passes and who fails.
2023 team report cards: positions 10-6
Haas: 4. A season with good opportunities thrown away due to a car with more defects than advantages, one of which was the enormous tire degradation. Sin.
Alfa Romeo: 5. Colorless for most of the season. The car is a decisive step backwards compared to 2022 and the few points finishes of Bottas and Zhou are more thanks to the drivers than to the performance of the car. At least it won the award for most beautiful livery of the year.

Alpha Tauri: 7. A season that started last in the standings, then thanks to Red Bull-like updates the team became one of the "best of the rest". Going from last position to almost seventh was a leap that went unnoticed.
Williams: 7. A step forward compared to 2022. The car seemed competitive on multiple tracks and not built just to go fast on the straight as it seemed last year. It must also be said that without Albon fewer points would have been achieved.
Alpine: 6.5. The car has improved compared to last year, but a few too many reliability problems (the Renault engine remains the worst on the grid) and the leap forward by McLaren and above all Aston Martin have made the French climb two positions further back than in 2022 .

2023 team report cards: the top 5
Aston Martin: 8. Without the last races, the second half of the season would have struggled to be sufficient. However, we cannot ignore the fact that in the first rounds the Silverstone team was the most solid and consistent anti-Red Bull.
McLaren: 8.5. A mirror season compared to Aston Martin, which started very badly and ended very well. The extra half point is to reward the improvements that transformed a difficult season into one of the best of the last decade.
Ferrari: 8. The 7 poles in total and the pride of having interrupted the Red Bull dominance in Singapore saved an otherwise difficult season, which began with hopes of a title but spent fighting for the top 5 in many races, for the podium in others and even for points in someone.

Mercedes: 7.5. The title of constructors' vice-champion is not enough. Much more is expected from a team that set the record for consecutive World Cup wins not even five years ago. The stubbornness of continuing with the no sidepod philosophy for the first few races ruined the second season in two years and, even after the updates, the car was very moody.
Red Bull: 10. What can you say to a team that has broken every record in existence? A perfect season despite the limitations in the wind tunnel. Only Singapore stopped the battleship.
