Lando Norris he holds on tight McLaren. Over the course of last week, through an official press release, the Woking team announced the renewal of the British pilot well beyond 2025 (expiration date of the now old contract). A signature, that of Norris, which was much wanted and sought after by the papaya team who tried to get ahead of the competition. One team in particular that was interested in Norris, in fact, was the Red Bull which, as admitted by the British driver himself after the renewal with the McLaren, had contacted and looked for number #4 on the grid: “In the world of Formula 1 – explained Norris – negotiations are constant. We always talk to many teams and ask ourselves what we can offer. If I have to tell the truth, however, my negotiations have never gone further with any team other than McLaren".

Norris renews with McLaren: “My refusal to Red Bull? Not Verstappen's fault: I'm not afraid of anyone."
Norris, therefore, remains at McLaren and believes in the team's project. Red Bull's attempt on several occasions, through the figure of Helmut, was useless Marko, made it clear that in Milton Keynes they thought Norris could be the right man to come alongside Verstappen. The same Max who has always got the better of his teammates over the past seasons. But the reason for Norris' refusal is not hidden behind a possible comparison with the three-time world champion: “I wouldn't be afraid of anyone. The question is linked to having to join a new team and having to change scenery: could I be competitive right away? For any pilot the answer to this question would always be No.".
“You have to adapt to find your place inside a team. Even more so, if you go alongside the world champion, let's say that It's certainly not the smartest move you could make. However, we will take it as a reference point. Our plan, in fact, is to replicate what Verstappen did with Red Bull in McLaren."
