A weekend to forget. There are no other words to describe the weekend of Brazil for Mercedes. Arrived in Sao Paulo to try to stretch out on Ferrari in the constructors' championship, increasingly certifying the second place, the star team instead he had to do the math with Russell's retirement and Lewis Hamilton's eighth position. Performance, it's almost useless to specify, clearly subpar with Toto Wolff who did not mince words to describe Mercedes' performance in Brazil.
A race to forget
It is now a fact that Mercedes struggles in qualifying. The Brackley team has demonstrated several times that they make the difference in the race. In Brazil, however, great difficulties arose on the pass. Mercedes struggled a lot with the tires, with Hamilton which opened on the radio during the race almost provoking his team: “Maybe it would have been better to mount the Hard ones”. Harsh words (in every sense), which give a total idea of the difficulties of the seven-time world champion, who could not take home more than an eighth position.

Wolff: “The Brazilian GP was the worst since I joined Mercedes”
Analyzing what was seen in the Brazilian GP, without mincing too many words, is Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff"I think weekends Sprint are not our real strength. We are working on ourselves to shoot all the main problems of the weekend in Brazil are out. But you can't go from being almost the fastest the week before (in Mexico ed.) to eighth place. I believe that, as far as I'm concerned, it was the worst weekend experienced in the last 13 years. We don't know where we could have made changes because there is a much bigger problem. We thought about a possible start from the pit lane, but if we think we should have maximized the maximum, I think starting as we did was the best choice".
