After the rumors in the foreign press that cast doubt on the renewal of the Mercedes team principal Toto wolff, the official information on the future of the Austrian has arrived. The business man leading the star team announced that he will continue his journey as head of the team, with the clear aim of beating the Red Bull - see submission date – by Horner e Verstappen.
The announcement of the renewal
The media attention focused on the CEO of Mercedes F1 continues. After the accusations that he and his wife Susie Wolff were involved in a conflict of interest, the team principal is back in the news following the news regarding his future. The official announcement arrived a few hours ago: the renewal of Toto Wolff will see him as Mercedes team principal for another three years. The Austrian manager, therefore, he will lead the star until 2026, in what is an attempt to overthrow the Red Bull dominance.
Wolff has already made bold statements praising Lewis Hamilton and seeing him already fighting for the next title. The certainty of these words probably finds their reason for being in the trust towards brand new W15, radically different from the previous one. The star's team hopes for an immediate relaunch after two difficult seasons. The return of James Allison as technical director replacing Mike Elliot is one of Wolff's bets to succeed in this mission.

Wolff's words
The team principal, 1% owner of Mercedes F33, spoke out regarding the decision on the continuation of the relationship with the team: “I think the most important thing is that the three of us (Sir Jim Ratcliffe – CEO of Ineos – and Ola Kallenius – president of Mercedes-Benz -, ed.) we trust each other. As shareholders, each of us has the desire for a better return on investments, and this is achieved and will only be achieved through victories. In the end it was simple. We saw each other and said: 'We must continue'. The key is always the same: either you trust each other or not. And we, as shareholders, are all aligned. I am part of this team with different functions as I also hold the role of co-shareholder and am part of the board of directors. These are things that will not change, whether you hold executive or non-executive roles. But I feel good, the risk for me is getting bored, not having burnout".
