Surprisingly, McLaren is the first team to have made the 2024 livery official which will dress the heir to the MCL60. The publication of the images arrived well before the start of the official presentations of the teams, which usually take place at the beginning of February.
The motivation behind this choice is unknown but one thing is certain: the team does not intend to start the season on the wrong foot, on the contrary. He intends to do it by starting again from where we left off, from a single-seater whose colors resemble the one he brought Lando Norris e Oscar piastri on the podium. So let's see what the new single-seater will be like, at least in terms of aesthetics. For now we should be satisfied with just this, and the name MCL38. A tasty preview, accompanied by a claim that recites a phrase that has become famous from the Imagine Dragons song: "Whatever it takes”, or "Whatever it takes".
McLaren starts from scratch, or almost
Social media managers like to be cryptic. And at McLaren they had fun playing with their social media. In fact, only yesterday the following were deleted from the team profiles: profile picture and posts, with a cryptic message "Whatever it takes". A message which, as if packaged, marks a radical change, a total detachment with the past. A change also underlined by a statement on the site, which focuses on the importance of persevering with the "whatever the cost" mentality. The new Team Principal, Andrea Stella, has adopted this mantra to inspire the team to give their all. Zak Brown and Andrea Stella restructured the team and equipment, while drivers like Lando and Oscar closed the season with notable results. McLaren is therefore preparing for a new era, requiring total commitment and a winning mentality, following the legacy of great names.
The presentation of the livery
All this mystery didn't last long. McLaren in fact he presented on social media a preview of the livery for the 1 Formula 2024 season, characterized by a new scheme with black, given by carbon fiber and the classic papaya orange. This is the first "presentation" of 2024, although the official launch will take place on February 14th. The livery incorporates elements popular with fans of the 'stealth' used in Singapore and chrome numbers inspired by the 2023 British GP. The team, following a transformation in 2023, aims to maintain the positive momentum, with CEO Zak Brown highlighting the hard work of the team. McLaren aims to continue the progress in 2024 with the new MCL38, also benefiting from the recent wind tunnel. We will have to wait for the performances and to see how the shapes will change. In the meantime, let's enjoy some photos.
